Adobe introduces AI tools that make it easier to work with vector objects and sketches
At Adobe MAX 2024, the company introduced new tools that enable users to transform 2D vector graphics into 3D and turn hand-drawn sketches into digital design layouts.
This technology, developed by Adobe's researcher Zhiqin Chen, combines geometric modeling with artificial intelligence, ensuring that graphics maintain their intended visual integrity regardless of their rotation. The technology ensures that the key design elements remain consistent, eliminating the need for manual redrawing.
Project Turntable can generate new elements from existing vector data and fill in gaps. For example, it can create a part of a drawing that becomes visible when the perspective is changed.
Another new tool called «Project Remix A Lot» allows digitalizing hand-drawn sketches and illustrations. "Sketch to Layout" button allows users to take a sketch design and use generative AI to turn it into an editable digital image. Once the design is complete, users can click on the "Layout Variations" button to automatically generate different sizes of the final image and make it suitable for posting on social media.
These tools are part of Adobe's annual "Sneaks" program, which showcases early innovations that may eventually be included in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
