Apple is preparing a major design update for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS
Apple plans a significant design overhaul for its operating systems, set to be unveiled later this year.

Apple plans a significant design overhaul for its operating systems iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16, set to be unveiled later this year.

The changes will affect icons, menus, apps, windows, and system buttons, aiming to create a more cohesive user interface across devices. This update will be the largest for iOS since iOS 7 and for macOS since the release of Big Sur.

The new design draws inspiration from elements of visionOS, the operating system for the Vision Pro, and will include rounded icons, transparent navigation panels, and 3D elements. The goal is to streamline navigation and make the interfaces more consistent, while maintaining the unique characteristics of each platform.
The company is expected to showcase the new design at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2025, after which it will undergo testing and be made available to users in the fall.
