Canva raises subscription prices by over 300% due to AI Tools
Prices for some Canva subscriptions will rise sharply in the near future. The subscription for Canva Teams for business clients will increase by over 300%. The company claims this is justified by the new generative AI tools.
Some Canva Teams users in the U.S. are reporting that the subscription cost has risen from $120 per year for five users to $500 per year. A 40% discount will be applied for the first 12 months, reducing the price to $300.
In recent years, Canva has introduced a range of generative AI features, including the Magic Media text-to-image generator and the Magic Expand background extension tool.
Such high prices mark a dramatic shift for Canva, which was once seen as a simple and affordable alternative to expensive Adobe software. This significant price increase is also linked to Canva’s acquisition of Affinity.
Users are widely criticizing the company for these drastic changes and are reporting a move to Adobe products.
