Developers will be able to nominate apps for promotion in the App Store
At WWDS 2024 Apple announced that app developers will have a new path to get their apps recognized and promoted.
The update allows developers to notify Apple's editorial team about new content or features in their apps before releases, and their inclusion in the App Store will be considered. Now, the App Store editorial team creates stories about apps and their developers, and curates interesting app into features collections across multiple sections of the App Store. With the launch of “Featured Nominations,” developers will be able to share their projects directly with Apple.
With the new nominations sheet in App Store Connect, developers will be able to create their own nominations individually or by downloading the spreadsheet to nominate apps in bulk. If an app is selected for redaction, App Store Connect notifies the developer via push notification. Apple recommends using a catchy title for your nomination to help publishers understand what the new content or feature in their app is focusing on.
The update expected to release in September alongside the release of iOS 18.
