Elecom introduces the world's first sodium-ion portable power bank

The Japanese accessory company Elecom has announced the release of a new mobile power bank Na+  that uses sodium ions as its power source and can withstand up to 5,000 charging cycles.

The use of sodium ion technology not only enhances safety but also extends the lifespan of the device. Unlike lithium-ion batteries, which can overheat, sodium ion cells are more reliable.

According to the company, the sodium-ion batteries remain operational in temperatures down to -35 degrees Celsius and can also withstand temperatures up to 50 degrees Celsius. This power bank can withstand approximately 5,000 charge cycles, which is ten times longer than traditional lithium-ion batteries. It takes two hours to fully charge the Na+ power bank.

The accessory has a capacity of 9000mAh·h and supports popular USB Power Delivery fast charging technology, with an output power of up to 45 W via USB-C.
