Google introduces AI tool to help recover hacked YouTube channels
The new assistant for YouTube helps users regain access to their hacked channels and protects them from future unauthorized access. This new feature, called "Hacked channel assistant," is available through the YouTube Help Center.
To restore access, the bot will ask users a few questions about their accounts and YouTube channels. Once the information is verified, any changes made by the hackers will be undone and the user's account will be restored as soon as possible.
However, the support bot must first confirm that a hack has indeed occurred and that access can be restored without the need for additional assistance. Google recommends users to look out for signs of hacking, such as changes to their profile picture or videos that they did not download to the channel.
Currently, the support bot assistant is only available in English and access to certain troubleshooting features is limited to a select group of people. However, Google plans to make this feature available to all YouTube creators in the future.
