Google updates its "G" logo for the first time in 10 years

After nearly a decade of consistency, Google has officially updated its iconic “G” logo. The last major change took place on September 1, 2015, when the company introduced a modern logo using the Product Sans typeface and replaced the lowercase white “g” on a blue background with the now-familiar circular, multicolored “G”.

Now, Google has decided to breathe new life into the logo: instead of the familiar four separate colors, the "G" logo now features gradients, where each color smoothly transitions into the next. This change makes the logo brighter, livelier, and visually more aligned with the design of Gemini, the artificial intelligence model actively developed by the company. A similar effect is also used in the new AI mode of Google Search for quick access.

The updated logo is already available in the Google Search app for iOS following yesterday’s update. On Android, the refreshed look began rolling out on Monday in the beta version of Google 16.18.
