Apple has added the new 'Search Here' button to Apple Maps

In iOS 18 beta, Apple Maps got a new "Search Here" button, which makes it easier to find information about places that are not located near user current position or while exploring new areas on the map.

In previous versions, Apple Maps would periodically return the search area back to the current location as the user moved around the map. This was not very convenient for users. "Search here" button allows users to narrow their search to specific areas on the map, providing more relevant and accurate results for the selected area.

The new feature is particularly useful when the user adjusts the zoom level of the map or scrolls away from the original search area. When you click the "Search here" button, the area will not move away from its original position.

A similar feature has been available in Google Maps for some time, and Apple has now decided to include it in their Maps as well.
