iOS 18.2 will allow users to rewrite emails and essays using Apple's AI
Apple is enhancing its artificial intelligence capabilities with the release of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2 and macOS 15.2.
In iOS 18.2, ChatGPT has been integrated into Siri. Additionally, there is a new "Compose" feature, that allows users to generate text using ChatGPT from scratch. It can be accessed in applications like "Notes" and "Mail", or by copying and pasting it into any text field using the copy/paste menu.
The user simply needs to provide an instruction, and ChatGPT will generate a draft that can be edited and improved. ChatGPT can also offer its own suggestions for improvements that can be made. The free version provides all the necessary features for most users' needs.
iOS 18.2 has also introduced another update to the writing tools, which allows users to "Describe your change" and improve text using AI.
Previously, users could choose from three different writing styles: friendly, professional, or concise. But if none of the above options provided the desired result, users now can use the "Describe Your Change" function to provide specific instructions for how they would like the text rewritten. Then, Apple's AI will work on the text and make the necessary changes according to the request.
