Microsoft Launches iCloud Photos Integration into Photos App on Windows 11
Microsoft is rolling out the integration of Apple's iCloud Photos service with the Photos app on Windows 11. The integration of Apple products with Windows 11 and Xbox was first announced in October at the Microsoft Fall 2022 Event.
The recently updated Photos app now has an iCloud Photos section. In it, iPhone owners can view pictures stored in the Apple cloud service. Synchronization occurs automatically.
To sync, you need to have the iCloud app on your computer and install the latest version of the Photos app, all from the Microsoft Store. In the iCloud app on your computer, sign in and choose to sync your photos, and all your iCloud Photos content will appear automatically in your Photos app.
All Windows 11 users are expected to have this feature by the end of November. This iCloud Photos integration into Windows 11 is part of a larger update to the operating system's Photos app that also includes a new gallery view that offers a different way to view your photos.
The company also previously announced that the Apple TV and Apple Music apps will be available in the Microsoft Store in 2023.
