Airbnb will finally display the total cost of accommodation when booking

Starting December 3, Airbnb will become a little more convenient. The new update will give users the ability to filter results by total rental value, including cleaning fees.

Previously, it was quite difficult to guess the final cost of the rent, because the price was often indicated without taking into account the cleaning fee, which was always different.

Starting in December, the service will finally allow users to filter their search results by the total cost of the stay. Total price will include all fees before taxes.

Once the user uses the filter, the total cost will be displayed in search results, as well as on the map, filter, and listing page. The feature will stay enabled as long as the person is logged into their account, so it won't need to be activated every time.

The company also said it will be easier for customers to find cleaning requirements before they leave.

"Guests should not have to do unreasonable checkout tasks such as stripping the beds, doing the laundry, or vacuuming when leaving their Airbnb. But we think it’s reasonable to ask guests to turn off the lights, throw food in the trash, and lock the doors — just like they would when leaving their own home."
