OpenAI introduced an AI agent, Operator, that can perform tasks online for you
OpenAI has introduced an innovative AI agent, Operator, capable of performing complex tasks online in real time. This tool is designed to simplify business operations and enhance user productivity.
Operator is an intelligent agent that can handle a variety of tasks, such as booking tickets, restaurant reservations, and online shopping. The interface allows users to choose tasks from categories like shopping, delivery, restaurants, and travel, enabling the automation of various processes.
The AI agent is based on the Computer-Using Agent model, which combines GPT-4 with the ability to work with visual data and advanced logical analysis skills. Operator "sees" interfaces through screenshots, clicks buttons, types text, and can correct errors. If a task requires additional actions, the agent hands control back to the user.
Before performing critical actions, like entering passwords, Operator asks for confirmation and blocks harmful requests and content. There are also speed limits on task execution, both daily and task-specific.
Currently, Operator is available only in the U.S. for ChatGPT Pro subscribers at $200 per month. In the future, OpenAI plans to expand access to other user categories, including Plus, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, integrating the agent into ChatGPT.
