Spline 3D Editor now lets you create AI textures and add videos to 3D objects
Spline, a free browser-based 3D editor has launched two new features: AI texture generation and the ability to import videos into layouts.
AI technologies have reached the popular 3D editor Spline. Now Spline has an experimental feature — the ability to generate AI-based textures using Stable Diffusion v2.
Users' reaction has been mixed, as there is a perception that Stable Diffusion does not legally acquire the reference frames that it uses to generate images. Many artists believe that the fact that Stable Diffusion is open source doesn't mean it's ethical.
Stable Diffusion is a deep learning, text-to-image model released in 2022. It is primarily used to generate detailed images conditioned on text descriptions, though it can also be applied to other tasks such as inpainting, outpainting, and generating image-to-image translations guided by a text prompt.
The second interesting feature is the ability to add video to 3D objects. This feature definitely pleased all users of the editor, as it opens up even more scope for creativity.
