Tinder is testing an AI feature that analyzes users’ photos to find better matches

Tinder is experimenting with a new artificial intelligence feature that can access users’ photo galleries to help the app find more compatible matches. Users concerned about privacy will be able to opt out of the feature.

The feature, called Chemistry, was announced by Match Group CEO Spencer Rascoff during the company’s financial report. It uses AI not only to analyze photos but also to interact with users through fun conversational prompts to better understand their interests and personalities.

“With AI, this interactive matching feature — a key part of Tinder’s product experience in 2026 — gets to know users through conversational cues and, with their permission, analyzes their photo gallery to better understand their interests and personalities,” the company said.

The update also comes with a redesigned iOS interface styled as Liquid Glass. The feature is currently being tested in Australia and New Zealand, with a wider rollout planned “in the coming months.”

Match Group also reported technical improvements: Tinder’s launch time on Android has been reduced by 38%, and crash rates have dropped by 32%. Stability on iOS has also significantly improved.
