Twitter Limits the Number of Tweets Users Can Read per Day

Twitter has recently implemented new restrictions on tweet viewing. Users are now allotted a specific number of tweets per day, and once this limit is reached, their feed will stop loading. Elon Musk, the current head of the social network, made this announcement in a tweet.

Verified accounts now have the ability to view up to 6,000 tweets per day, while unverified profiles are limited to 600 posts per day. New accounts have a daily limit of 300 posts. (Elon Musk has since increased the limit to 10,000, 1,000 and 500.)

The new restrictions come as Twitter is suffering from an extended outage that has stymied users’ ability to track new posts. According to Musk, the limits were introduced in order to avoid "scraping" of data, as some accounts collect users’ tweets for free for analysis, which degrades the social network.
