YouTube launches automatic dubbing feature for multiple languages

YouTube has expanded its artificial intelligence-powered automatic dubbing feature to a variety of channels that focus on knowledge and information, and added support for new languages.

Content creators can activate automatic translations into various languages by checking a box during the video upload process on YouTube.

The dubbing content is dependent on the language used in the original video. At the moment, Google offers automatic translation from English to the following languages: French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. It also provides English translations for each of these languages. Users can choose the appropriate audio dubbling track from the settings of the YouTube player.

Dubbing is not currently very inaccurate, but YouTube promises that it will improve with future updates, imitating the "tone, emotion, and even the ambiance of the surroundings".

YouTube notes that the automatic dubbing feature is currently in development for more creators and will eventually be available to all users.
