The Role
Job Title: UI/UX Designer
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end UX design process from start to finish, from initial user research and early sketching through final pixel-perfect Figma files and hand-offs for implementation
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and identify areas for improvement
- Create detailed design artifacts, including user flows and customer journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, low and high-fidelity designs, and responsive layouts that work across multiple device types and screen sizes
- Design and maintain a robust design system with consistent visual elements, UI component libraries, and style guides
- Partner closely with Product Managers to identify product opportunities and refine detailed product requirements
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative input to enhance product design and functionality
- Work intimately with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are feasible and align with business objectives, and quickly iterate based on feedback
- Champion user-centered design principles across the organization and contribute to the development of design guidelines, best practices, and standards
- Stay at the forefront of UX/UI design trends, technologies, and best practices
- Provide support in areas of brand and visual design, ensuring consistency across various digital platforms
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on interaction design and prototyping
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, or similar
- Experience or strong enthusiasm for 0 to 1 product development, including comfort working in undefined or rapidly evolving contexts
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in designing user interfaces and interactive prototypes
- Experience with user research, usability testing, and translating insights into design improvements
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the ability to work closely with software engineers
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Knowledge of current UX design trends and technologies
- Position requires occasional travel to engage with users and participate in team meetings (approx 20% of time)
