Adobe has announced new AI features for its Creative Cloud products, including Photoshop.
One notable addition is the Distraction Removal feature in the Remove Tool, which operates similarly to Google’s Magic Eraser on Pixel devices, enabling users to swiftly eliminate unwanted objects from their images. This new functionality automatically detects removable objects and removes them with just one click. It's currently available in both the desktop and web versions of Photoshop, with more updates promised in the future, according to Adobe.
Photoshop users can now choose whether to use generative AI (Adobe Firefly) or non-generative AI with the removal tool. There’s also an option for automatic selection based on the image and scene to achieve optimal results.
The tools Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Generate Similar, and Generate Background are now widely available and have been updated to the latest Firefly Image 3 model. Adobe states that this update enhances the diversity and photorealism of the generated results and offers a better understanding of complex prompts compared to the previous model.
The new online Photoshop technology automatically selects all objects in your image. The AI will scan, identify, and select various elements on the canvas, enabling you to edit the selected areas more efficiently, accurately, and with greater control.
