Google is launching a search feature for Google Lens, which allows users to take videos and ask questions about them.

To use the feature, users need to open Google Lens on an Android device and hold down the camera button to start recording a video. While the video is recording, users can ask a question or try to explain what they want to know.
For example, if something isn't working, just focus on the object and ask what is wrong with it. Google will then provide search results with possible solutions.

Google introduced a video search feature for Google Lens at the I/O conference in 2024, but it has only recently become widely available. If the video search feature is enabled in your area, Google Lens will provide you with a generated response.

The updated Google post on news blog says that "search is so much more than just words in a text box. Often the questions you have are about the things you see around you, including objects in motion. Thanks to advancements in video understanding, we’re able to take visual search to a whole new level, with the ability to ask questions with video".
