Google Photos is launching a new AI-powered video editor
Google Photos is now rolling out a redesign of its mobile video editor.
Google is updating its mobile video editor in the Photos app for Android and iOS, adding new editing tools and AI presets to simplify trimming and adjusting clips.
Among the new features for Android is the “Speed” tool for creating slow-motion or fast-forward videos, an “Auto Enhance” button for improving color and stability, and an updated cropping tool for more precise edits. The interface for tools below the timeline has also been redesigned for easier access to popular features like mute, enhancement, stabilization, and frame export.
The new AI presets for video are available on both Android and iOS, allowing users to make adjustments with a single tap, including automatic cropping, speed control, and lighting adjustments. These presets can also apply effects like slow motion, zooming, and dynamic motion tracking of specific objects in the video. The new features are located in the “presets” tab below the timeline, separate from the standard editing tools.
