Microsoft has announced the launch of beta testing for the Game Assist feature, an in-game browser overlay based on the Microsoft Edge browser.

A new feature has been integrated into Microsoft Game Bar. It is designed to automatically search and display useful tips and guides for gamers playing games in Edge browser.

Game Assist uses the profile that the user is signed in to in Edge, so it provides access to data such as cookies, auto-fill and favorites, so users don't need to log back into sites. The game bar can be pinned to the top of the screen during gameplay.

Game Assist is currently only available in English. To use this feature, users will need to opt to the preview version and set Microsoft Edge Beta 132 as their default browser.

The current beta version only supports mouse and keyboard input. However, future updates will include compatibility with portable devices and game controllers. Microsoft has announced that a compact mode is currently being developed as well.
