Microsoft Syncs iPhone with Windows 11 and Stops Releasing Updates for Windows 10
Microsoft stops releasing updates for Windows 10 and starts rolling out iOS support for Phone Link syncing to all Windows 11 users.
Microsoft starts rolling out iOS support for Phone Link syncing to all Windows 11 users. Now your computer can be synchronized not only with Android smartphones, but also with devices running iOS.
With Phone Link on Windows 11 and the Link to Windows app on iOS, you can make and receive calls, send and receive iMessage text messages, and view notifications right from your computer.
This feature requires an iPhone running iOS 14 or later and an active Bluetooth connection. Microsoft also clarified that iMessage is limited to text messages in private chats.
All Windows 11 users will have Phone Link sync capabilities with iOS by mid-May.
Windows 10 stops getting new features
And now for the news for Windows 10 users. Microsoft has announced that it will stop releasing feature updates for the Windows 10 operating system. The current version, indexed 22H2, will be the final release for Windows 10.
At the same time, the company will continue to make monthly releases with fixes for bugs and vulnerabilities. As previously known, support for regular versions of Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025. The corporate edition of Windows 10 LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) will be updated until 2029.
Company representatives strongly recommend that all users upgrade to Windows 11 now, as there will be no additional feature updates to Windows 10.
