Amazon Music announces new feature that recommend podcast episodes by topics
"Topics" is now available to all Amazon Music users in the United States, on iOS and Android devices.
Amazon Music has announced the new AI- feature called "Topics".
This feature allows users to discover podcast episodes on specific topics.
When a user visits the episode pages of popular podcasts, a list of tags related to topics that were discussed in the episode will appear below the episode description. By clicking on a tag, the user can access a list of other episodes that also cover that topic. This allows the user to easily find more content related to the topic they are interested in and discover new episodes that they might enjoy.
Topics is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), but it also relies on human labor. The AI analyzes transcripts and podcast descriptions to identify key topics, and then Amazon Music team members add appropriate tags to the episode page.
The feature will be launched on leading podcasts on Amazon Music, including The Daily, SmartLess, and This American Life. Amazon also plans to expand coverage of "Topics" to more podcast content, which will lead to a wider range of topics and an improved selection of related podcast episodes.
