There are new AI features to organize your tabs, create custom themes and get help with writing on the web.

Chrome has been upgraded with three exciting AI-powered features that make browsing a breeze. Starting today, you can experiment with these features in Chrome on Macs and Windows PCs (U.S. only):

1. Tab Organizer

Recognizing the challenges of managing multiple tabs, Chrome introduces Tab Organizer. This feature automatically suggests and creates tab groups based on content, simplifying navigation for users juggling multiple tasks. Users can access this functionality by right-clicking on a tab and selecting "Organize Similar Tabs" or by clicking the tab bar dropdown arrow.

2. AI-Generated Themes

Chrome now offers a text-to-image diffusion model for personalized browser themes. Users can quickly generate custom themes based on chosen subjects, moods, visual styles, and colors, without requiring expertise in AI prompts. This feature is accessible through the "Customize Chrome" side panel, under "Change theme" and "Create with AI."

3. Writing Assistant

Get help from Chrome's AI writing assistant: Right-click a text box on any website and select "Help me write," then start typing. The AI will get you rolling with suggestions, making writing online less daunting. Whether you're crafting a restaurant review, party RSVP, or apartment inquiry, the assistant is here to boost your confidence.

A contact form for an apartment rental. The initial draft says “im interested in this place - do you allow dogs?” Chrome’s “Help me write” feature provides suggested text.

These experimental features showcase Chrome's ongoing efforts to leverage AI and machine learning to enhance user experience. Further integration of AI technologies, including the new Gemini model, is planned for later releases, aiming to further optimize browsing speed and efficiency.
