Duolingo is one of the first major companies to integrate the GPT-4 neural network. Users who are studying Spanish or French within the English-speaking audience can now communicate with the neural network on any topic right in the application.

Yesterday, we reported that OpenAI had introduced ChatGPT-4, the newest generation of AI language model with image recognition capabilities. Following this news, it has now been disclosed that GPT-4 has already been seamlessly integrated into the highly popular language learning application, Duolingo.

The Duolingo Max subscription, which costs $29.99 a month, unlocks two new AI-powered features called "Role Play" and "Explain My Answer."

The role-play feature unlocks an artificial intelligence chatbot that allows users to practice real-world communication skills with the characters in the app. The role-playing function will offer you scenarios in which you will have to, for example, order coffee in a cafe or discuss plans for an upcoming vacation with a certain character. After the dialogue, the AI will give you feedback on how you performed in this conversation, and will also give spome tips.

The "Explain My Answer" feature gives users the opportunity to learn more about their answer in the lesson, whether their answer was right or wrong. After the exercise, you can click on a special button and get into a chat with Duo to request additional explanations and examples.

Duolingo claims to continually review the AI-generated explanations in Roleplay and Explain My Answer to make sure the answers are correct and written in Duo's friendly style.

Users already leave positive feedback and say that it really helps to learn the language faster.
