Google's Gemini chatbot app now allows users to edit images generated by AI and photos uploaded from their phones or computers.

Google says that image editing is done using textual commands, while Gemini maintains the context of previous edits. Users can also upload their personal photos from their devices and try on new styles or clothes with them.

The editor's features allow users to change the background of images, replace objects, add elements, and perform other actions - all within the Gemini interface. This greatly simplifies the process of creating and editing visual content by eliminating the need to switch between different specialized apps or platforms.

Google also stated that users can combine visual and textual content. For instance, they can ask Gemini to create a bedtime story and illustrate each part of the story with relevant images. This provides more freedom for creativity and imagination.

All images edited with Gemini will contain invisible Google SynthID AI watermarks.

The image editing feature is now available for some users, and Google plan to roll it out to more users over the next few weeks. It will be available in more than 45 languages and most countries.
