Google has announced a new feature in its Translate app that helps users learn foreign languages using AI and offers real-time conversation translation.

The beta version of the learning tool is now available to some users. It creates personalized lessons based on the user’s language level and goals—such as travel, work meetings, or everyday conversations. Currently, it supports English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

Users select their level and scenario, and the AI Gemini generates interactive lessons where they can practice speaking or listen to dialogues with highlighted familiar words.

Additionally, Google Translate now offers live conversation translation in over 70 languages. This feature is available in the US, India, and Mexico, allowing two-way dialogues with automatic real-time translation.

Google is also experimenting with synthesized voices that sound like the user, though this feature is not yet launched.
