The Google Pixel 8a, a mid-range smartphone priced at $499, was unveiled by Google today. It will be available for purchase starting May 14.
The Pixel 8a has a 6.1-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. It is powered by the Tensor G3 processor and has 8GB of RAM. The phone is available in four colors: Obsidian (black), Porcelain (beige), Bay (dark blue), and Aloe (green).
The Pixel 8a has a rear camera system consisting of a 64MP main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. The front-facing camera has a 13MP sensor with a wider field of view than the Pixel 7a. The phone supports video recording at up to 4K resolution at 30 or 60 frames per second.
The Pixel 8a runs Android and will receive seven years of updates. It also includes features such as Face Unlock, Live Translate, and Car Crash Detection. The phone is available in two storage configurations: 128GB and 256GB.
