Instagram presents public comments for stories

Instagram is introducing a new feature that will allow users to leave comments on stories, which will be visible to other users.

Instagram has already implemented a new feature for some accounts. On the screenshots below, shared by Taylor Lauren, some users are now receiving notifications about the new commenting feature on stories.

Comments on stories will be displayed at the bottom of the panel, above the controls. Other users will be able to open and view them.

It is expected that the public comments will provide an opportunity for new discussions and reactions to the story, which will in turn increase user engagement with the platform.
