OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Atlas – a web browser with a built-in AI assistant
OpenAI announced ChatGPT Atlas – its own web browser built on Chromium, centered around the ChatGPT chatbot.

OpenAI today announced ChatGPT Atlas – a new web browser built around ChatGPT. Developers describe it as a “next-generation browser” that brings together search, artificial intelligence, and personal user context in one seamless experience.
Atlas allows ChatGPT to accompany you anywhere on the web, assisting directly in the window without copying, pasting, or switching between tabs. The browser includes built-in ChatGPT memory, enabling it to recall past conversations and details to provide more helpful and contextual responses.

One of its key features, browser memories, lets ChatGPT remember context from websites you visit and use it later – for example, to find past job listings or summarize industry trends. All data remains under your control: you can view, archive, or delete memories at any time.

Another major addition is agent mode, which allows ChatGPT to perform actions directly in the browser. The assistant can place online orders, prepare research reports, or plan events – all without leaving the page.

ChatGPT Atlas is now available worldwide on macOS for Free, Plus, Pro, and Go users, and in beta for Business, Enterprise, and Edu accounts (if enabled by administrators). Versions for Windows, iOS, and Android are coming soon.
