OpenAI has introduced a new technology that enables users to launch full-fledged applications directly within ChatGPT. From now on, users will be able to interact with interactive apps from Spotify, Figma, Coursera, Zillow, and Canva right inside the chat.

Alongside this, OpenAI has released an SDK that allows developers to create and integrate their own apps into ChatGPT. According to CEO Sam Altman, the company’s goal is to make the chatbot an effective tool for productivity, learning, and creativity.

Unlike the previous GPT Store, where users had to search for apps manually, now they can summon them during a conversation — simply by mentioning their names. For example, ask Figma to turn a sketch into a diagram or Coursera for a machine learning course. ChatGPT can also proactively suggest useful apps — such as Spotify for generating a playlist.

In the future, OpenAI plans to introduce app monetization through instant payments within ChatGPT.
