OpenAI is testing the voice mode for ChatGPT
OpenAI says it will release a new voice mode for ChatGPT gradually, in order to closely monitor its use
The new OpenAI voice mode for ChatGPT has started to spread among a select group of users who have ChatGPT Plus.
Information about testing the voice mode has been posted on Reddit. The post states that "advanced voice mode is on its way".
OpenAI has reported that it has made significant improvements to the new mode since the May presentation. The company has "added new filters that will recognize and block certain requests to generate music or other copyrighted audio", according to Open AI's representative, Taya Christianson.
Christianson says the new ChatGPT mode will only use four preset voices, created with the help of professional voice actors. She adds: "We’ve made it so that ChatGPT cannot impersonate other people’s voices, both individuals and public figures, and will block outputs that differ from one of these preset voices."
The full launch of the voice mode is scheduled for this fall.
