These additions bring Slack closer to the capabilities of competitors such as Zoom and Google Meet, which already offer AI-powered meeting summarization tools.

Salesforce has implemented several new AI-powered features for Slack, which are aimed to help with routine tasks such as transcription and summarization.

According to the company's description, the main new feature, Slack AI Huddle, is designed to "capture key takeaways and action items, so users can focus on the work at hand."

The new feature will automatically generate notes during meetings and conversations in Slack, potentially streamlining the meeting process and boosting user productivity.

When someone invited to a huddle, Slack AI creates a transcript using real-time audio and messages from the conversation. It can also create notes with links, tasks, and files that are displayed on the screen.

Any user of the channel or direct message where started the conversation will be able to view the transcript and notes.

Slack has also updated its search function with the use of artificial intelligence, so that it can provide unique results for users based on files and applications they have uploaded to the platform. This includes canvases, clips, transcripts, documents from connected apps, Google files, and more.

These additions bring Slack closer to the capabilities of competitors such as Zoom and Google Meet, which already offer AI-powered meeting summarization tools.
