Spotify is set to introduce Your Offline Mix, an automatic playlist consisting of recently played tracks that downloads to your device. The new feature will allow you to enjoy your favorite songs even when don't have access to the Internet.

Although Your Offline Mix is currently undergoing testing, some Spotify users have already discovered this feature on their devices. It is not yet clear in which regions the innovation is being tested and whether it will be available in a free plan.

The company started developing a new feature a few years ago. As Spotify CEO Daniel Ek noted, Your Offline Mix is useful for situations without access to the Internet. For example, when you forgot to download your favorite songs before a long journey or outdoor recreation.

Judging by the screenshot posted by Ek, it will be possible to store an offline playlist with a total duration of several hours.

YouTube Music previously offered a comparable feature known as Offline Mixtape. Now it has been replaced by the Smart Download feature, which allows you to automatically download up to 500 songs in various playlists.
