Apple has released the second beta version of iOS 18.2, which includes a major update to the Notes app with new AI-powered features.

"Image Wand" tool

The Image Wand is a powerful tool that allows to transform Apple Pencil sketches into stunning, ready-made illustrations. The new tool allows users quickly sketch something in a note and then use the Image Wand tool to create a more appealing and high-quality version of their sketch. This eliminates the need for using third-party applications.

Image Wand can also create images from scratch. The tool analyzes the text in the note and generates an image that corresponds to the content of the text. This helps to visualize ideas, even if you don't have artistic skills.

«Compose» button for text generation with AI

AI writing tools make it easy for users to create original content. By simply clicking the "Compose" button, users can provide a prompt and AI generates text for them. This feature is perfect for students who want to save time while maintaining the quality of their writing. The "Compose" button is located at the bottom of the writing area in Apple Notes.

Another addition is "Describe Your Change", which allows providing instructions on how to rewrite a note and choose the style that needed.
By writing out the instructions, users can provide Apple's intelligence with clear directions on how to rephrase the notes, and it will work according to it.
