Threads has launched its API for developers

Meta has announced the launch of its long-awaited Threads API, which allows developers to publish content and extract their own data, as well as enable response management tools for users. 

In a blog post, Mark Zuckerberg, the company's founder, wrote about the launch, saying,"The Threads API is now available and will soon be accessible
to many of you." 

Jesse Chen, a Threads engineer, then explained in a blog post how the API will enable developers to publish messages, manage content, and implement response tools. Users will be able to hide or show certain answers and interact with them.

Additionally, at the Cannes Film Festival, Meta revealed that, in addition to these features, the API will provide analytics with metrics such as the number of views, likes, replies, reposts, and quotations at both the media and user levels.

Threads has previously integrated with distributed social networks from the Fediverse family, such as Mastodon. However, its functionality is currently limited. Users of Threads can open their posts through Mastodon clients and post content on Mastodon servers. However, they do not yet have access to see comments  or subscriptions from users on other platforms in the Fediverse.
