WhatsApp Communities: enhanced communication tools
WhatsApp Communities are bolstered with two new features: Events for simplified gathering planning and curated Replies in Announcement Groups for enhanced admin-member communication. These functionalities aim to strengthen engagement and information flow within communities.
Following the launch of Communities, a feature that facilitates connection and organization for individuals with shared interests, WhatsApp are introducing two new functionalities to further enhance communication and engagement within these groups.
A new functionality, Events, facilitates the organization of gatherings directly within WhatsApp Communities. This feature empowers any group member to create an event, allowing others to RSVP for improved attendance tracking. Event details are readily accessible on the group information page, and automated notifications ensure timely reminders for participants. Initially available within Communities, Events will be rolled out to all groups in the coming months.
Improved interaction in announcement groups
To enhance communication within Announcement Groups, curated replies are now available. This feature allows members to provide feedback on important admin updates, fostering a more interactive and informative environment. Replies are grouped and collapsed for contextual viewing, with muted notifications to minimize disruption.
Over the coming months, further functionalities designed to empower communities and facilitate meaningful connections will be introduced.
