X will allow users to request Community Notes for posts
The new option is a great way to combat misinformation in the app and make posts more valuable
X has expanded the Community Notes feature with a new option that allows to request notes for post. Users will be able to report posts they believe contain controversial content.
This option is available in the post menu and allows users to flag messages for review by other members of Community Notes.
If enough reports are made, the system will notify members and allow them to provide a response.
As X said,
“This gives people on X who are not contributors a way to help, and lets contributors know where notes might be found helpful.”
The new feature is a great way to combat misinformation in the app, as it makes it easier for users to search for specific notes.
To request a community notes, a user must have a verified phone number associated with their account, which is also necessary for X Premium subscriptions.
Initially, accounts will be allowed to submit up to five notes per day.
But X suggests that this number could be increased in the future if the notes prove to be more valuable.
