YouTube is working on a new AI-powered tool that will enable users to create free background music for their videos.
Creators who have access to the new feature will find the "Music Assistant" tab in the Creator Music interface. In the text field, users can specify the type of music they would like to create by describing details such as the instruments, mood, and type of video they are creating. Additional hints will also appear below the field to assist users in formulating their query more effectively.
The tool will generate an instrumental track that can be used without risk of copyright infringement.
The feature will be rolled out to authors with access to the Creator Music platform gradually. At the moment, the tool is only available in beta for US users in the YouTube Partner Program.
