Windows 11 gets a new Notepad editor with artificial intelligence features and new tools in the Paint editor.

With this update, users can now use generative AI to write new content in Notepad. The "Write" feature allows users to quickly draft text based on their requests. They can save the text or ask the AI to generate more.

Another new "Rewrite" feature will allow users to paraphrase sentences, adjust the tone of the text, and modify its length.
To try the new feature, users need to select a portion of text, right-click, and select the "Rewrite" option. After a few seconds, the program will generate its own version of the selected text. Users can then choose to save the generated text or ask the program to generate a new version based on the original text.

This update is currently in testing and is only available to participants in the Windows Insider program on the Canary and Dev channels.

Microsoft has also introduced new AI features in the Paint graphics editor. These features allow users to create custom stickers based on text input and isolate specific objects in an image and remove backgrounds.

"Sticker generator" allows users to create custom stickers by entering a text query. To use the generator, users need to select "Sticker Generator" from the Copilot menu, enter a query, and click "Generate". Paint will generate a set of unique stickers based on user's request.

The Sticker Generator and object isolation functions will only be available on Copilot+ PCs.

Paint also adds a new AI feature called "Perfect Screen". This feature completes the "Snipping Tool". It is able to automatically select and crop useful objects from an image, such as a table of data in a screenshot. To use it, users simply need to open the "Snapping Tool" and bring up the capture toolbar, or use the Print Screen keyboard shortcut.

In addition, a color palette has been added to the program, allowing users to quickly change the colors in their drawings.
