New updates to frame presets in UI3 from Figma
New frame improvements in Figma.
The Figma team has introduced three updates to frame presets in UI3, designed to enhance your design efficiency:
- (0,0) origin point for new frames on a blank canvas: The first frame added to a blank canvas will now automatically be positioned at coordinates 0x0y.
- New frames remember previous dimensions: When clicking on the canvas to add a new frame, Figma will default to the size of the last-used frame in that file. (Previously, the default was a 100x100 pixel frame.)
- New Quick add insert to duplicate new frame: Quick-add indicators will now appear beside and between frames when using the frame tool, making it easier to insert additional frames. These indicators will appear when you select the frame tool (press F or choose the frame tool from the toolbar) and hover over an existing frame. If you hover over a frame containing content when using the quick-add feature, the new frame will duplicate the content of the frame you started from. To add a blank frame beside or between frames with content, hold the Option key (or Control on Windows) while clicking the quick add button, and Figma will insert a blank frame.
